Candle wax A candle caught fire and blew up all over my bathroom. I have taken most of it off, except on the walls. The paint is a latex, semi-gloss. I cannot seem to make any headway. It was a red candle and the color does not want to lift. I tried an iron and this melted the paint. I live in an apartment and the owner will freak if I do not have it off soon! Help!!! -- "reneyve" Reply   26 Oct 2002 (Ref:0800)

Cleaning a small closed in bathroom without ventilation While I was pregnant I discovered that scrubbing in the bathroom with fumey cleaners wasn't a hot idea anymore. What works great is ordinary liquid clothes detergent. It fought the toughest mildew and cleaned better than most bathroom cleaners on the porcelain, stainless steel and fiberglass. Everything shines like new and I can clean my tiny closed-in bathroom without a gas mask, not to mention the fact that I'm not leaving behind any harsh chemicals for me or my family to bathe in or breath. --    "Tracertonian" Comment  18 Oct 2002  (Ref:0807)

Answer#2: dents in carpet.Try putting a damp towel over dents in carpet and a warm iron and just iron the indents away. You can try increasing the temperature of the iron, but be careful. Susan Geiser. -- Apr 15 2007

A: WHEN I USED TO WORK IN THE LEATHER BUSINESS, WE USED THE SOFTER SIDE OF AN EMERY BOARD FIRST, RUB THE STAIN GENTLY, AND BRUSH AWAY WHAT COMES OFF. TRY THE ROUGHER SIDE TO REMOVE THE REST.(USE A NEW EMERY BOARD) HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU. Reply 26/05/2005

Q: Cold candle wax on my toddlers shirt. My two year-old was digging with his fingernails in a cold red candle while my back was turned and wiped all the wax from his fingers and fingernails on his new yellow shirt. How do I get the wax off without it leaving a color or residue? Please help!!! -- Lori Freeman Reply  17 Oct 2002 (Ref:0817)

A: Candle Wax.  You can damp a paper towel lay it on top of the fabric where ever the wax is then get your iron and put it on warm setting lay the paper towel over the stain and iron over it it will melt the wax and the paper towel will pick up the wax. -- JW Martin 16/12/2005

A: Linty Towels. Hi I don't know how old this post is, but I'll Reply anyways. You should tumble-dry the towels a couple of times each time you wash them, make sure you clean out the lint filter in the tumble-dryer. a fuller answer is to be found on thetipsbank website...www.thetipsbank.com/towel-lint.html
