Q: nail polish removal: Hi i have just discovered your wonderful site, but I cannot seem to find what I am searching for. I spilled white nail polish on my car gearbox which is leather and on the floor on the floor of the car, and I have no idea hoe to get it off, as I was going to use nail polish remover, but am afraid this will burn a hole in the gearbox cover, and I wondering if you could possibly advise me how to remove the polish without too much damage being done to the vehicle. Many thanks and I await your Reply. Kind regards Jo -- joanne levy Reply  12 Jun 2003 (Ref:0881)

Q: Aluminum Poisoning  Hello I want to know where I can written information on the dangers of using aluminum pots for cooking. I work at a busy Fire Station and all of our food is cooked in ally pots. As is the food for other fire-fighters at other stations. I would be extremely grateful for any information on this subject.

I want to ask where can I find written evidence on aluminum poisoning. We use a lot of aluminum pots for cooking at the Fire Station where I work and management will not change these pots unless they have written proof of their dangers. HELP!! Kevin Herniman

Q: Aluminum in Antiperspirants. Hey my name is Angela...I am a high school student and I am doing a huge project on aluminum in antiperspirants...I am trying to learn more about the topic because I have to find some sort of procedure on how to determine how much aluminum is actually in different antiperspirants and if this amount is harmful to one's health. I still haven't found out why they even put aluminum in antiperspirants. If you can be of any help please email me back as soon as possible. Thank You -- Angela Cianiangang Reply 28 Sep 2003 (Ref:0879)

Q: Cleaning Dominoes. I bought a set of dominoes. (to play Mexican Train). They are white plastic? tiles with coloured spots. I cleaned them with a product called Goof Off, which is sort of like a paint thinner. They now smell horrible! I have soaked them in hot soapy water, let them air out, scrubbed them with detergent and lemon juice, still can't get the strong smell of paint thinner out of the tiles! I would so appreciate any suggestions. Thank you. -- "Rosemary" Reply  03 Aug 2003(Ref:0878)

Question about slugs.  Hi, I wondered if you could help me. I read about slugs from the web page. We have had a strange thing happen. On two occasions, about 6 months apart, we have found a big slug in the kitchen (not a baby one, at least 2-3 inches in length, with horns). Today it was crawling on the countertop near the stove (light brown in color). The first time it was on the floor next to the trash can (reddish/spotted). I try to keep things clean. Do you have any idea why they might be coming in (i.e., does heavy rain bring them in from outside--we had a lot of rain last week?) Thanks for your help.
